I have had Type one Diabetes since I was four. When I was little I really didn’t understand what it was and why I had it. I hated all the needles, they made me cry. But my mom was so great, she explained about insulin in a way that a kid could understand. I used to get Insulin shots every day and they were nasty.
Today, I have an insulin pump that gives me what I need to stay well. I still have to prick my finger but soon I will get a special meter that reads my sugar level through the skin. I can’t wait to say good bye to those needles.
